As the marketing manager, talent and face of Geiser Performance (kidding), it was evident that I needed a UTV of my own. LGX3 took a while to finish, but it beyond what I had imagined.
This build, like RJ's last build, started as a Can-Am X3 Base Model. With zero miles on the car, it was stripped and ready to be built up to Geiser Performance (and Lindsay's) standards. Obviously, I am going to say that all of the upgrades we made are worth it - but I mean it. Everything done to this X3 has made a considerable improvement to the car.
First basic moves were to make the Base Model to XRS conversion. We changed out the stock arms, axles, shocks, intercooler and fan to get the stock XRS.
Evolution Powersports Stage 3R was the next most important upgrade. Knowing that I grew up around Trophy Trucks, Todd and Jim were adamant about putting some HP behind LGX3. I can instantly feel the power in the pedal when I step on it. The Stage 3R is the perfect amount of power for me.
I also got the EVO Shocker, Intercooler, and Exhaust Tip. All new products and all completely worth it. The Shocker allows me to show off and make the exhaust loud or keep it quiet to sneak up. Intake temps were considerably lower with the intercooler. The Exhaust Tip makes my stock exhaust look so trick.
Next was all things Geiser Performance. We cut the cage and put the 4130 chromoly, TIG welded custom Geiser cage. Custom Geiser doors were a must as well. All of the bolt-on upgrades - shock tower mount, bulkhead/bumper, radius rods, link plate, shift kit, etc., were color matched and installed right away.
Shock Therapy took the car in for the Stage 2 Ride Improvement System and I could see a HUGE difference in the way it rides right away. Whether it's floating through the dunes or ripping through the whoops at Geiser loop, the ride is so plush and so smooth.
RIGID lined me up with the 50" SR-Series Pro Midnight Edition for the roof and the new 6" Amber light for the bumper. Both not only look good on the car, but light up the night. Driving at night is never a concern with the SR bar on top. The lower amber light is perfect for cutting through dust (not that I'm in someone's dust a lot). Between the two, all of my lighting needs are exceeded.
I've always been Team Raceline and was stoked to get the first set of their Machined Ryno wheels. I knew that I wanted to color match the wheels to the rest of the car. Starting with the machined wheel made this a breeze. The wheels even looked good without powder coat!
If you're looking for a sound system for your UTV, Rockford Fosgate is the way to go. The Stage 5 system allows me to rock out while I drive and play music for the group while we're stopped. Definitely happy with this set up.
Overall, this build is everything I was looking for in a UTV. If you know me, you know that I've always been biased to the bigger, faster off-road vehicles. With these upgrades, I can honestly say this is the next best thing to a Trophy Truck.
